IPOH – A male patient suffered burns on the hand when an oxygen tank caught fire in an isolation room at Slim River Hospital in Tg Malim tonight.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman in a statement said personnel from the Slim River station was deployed after receiving a call at 7.42pm.
The patient, 48, suffered 9% burns on the hand.
Upon their arrival, firemen found that the hospital staff had extinguished the flames, which damaged 5% of the isolation room.
The team then conducted an assessment and inspection to secure the area, with the operation ending at 8.55pm. – Bernama, August 10, 2021
