MIRI – A curfew has been imposed in southern Sarawak districts as the state today sees record-high Covid-19 cases.
The state Disaster Management Committee announced that no public movement is allowed from 10pm to 5am in Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Tebedu, Bau, Lundu, Simunjan and Asajaya districts starting from August 22 to 29.
“No dine-ins are allowed, and businesses can only open from 5am to 8pm. Public movements are not allowed after 10pm in these places.”
Sarawak logs 2,548 cases today, an increase of 1,342 compared with yesterday.
State capital Kuching today saw 1,601 new infections – followed by Serian (240), Bau (131) and Samarahan (116), among others. – The Vibes, August 20, 2021
