KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is committed to contributing his energy, time and ideas for the sake of “Keluarga Malaysia”, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob after the two met yesterday.
In a Facebook post, Ismail Sabri said the two met for an hour to discuss economic challenges and strategies to address the pandemic.
He also shared a photo of the two taken in the prime minister’s office.
Najib, too, posted on Facebook about the meeting yesterday.
“My stand and principles are clear. If there is an opportunity to improve, I will suggest them. If wrong, I will oppose and I will support good ideas.
“Make no mistake, I gave my honest feedback. Malaysia is still in crisis and faced with bigger challenges, economically and people’s welfare.
“From a macro point of view, we are far behind compared with our neighbours. Malaysia no longer attracts foreign investors after 2018.
“Our people are also not confident of the national economy. There are concerns about need, income and job security.”
