Cops investigate shotgun murder of local man, Indonesian wife in Sarawak

MIRI – The criminal investigation team from police here are currently investigating the death of a local man and his Indonesian wife after both were found dead from gunshot wounds at their homes in Kg Beraya, Bekenu, near here yesterday.

Miri district police chief Hakemal Hawari told reporters that his team is at the village to gather information about the couple and their family.

The man in his 60s and his wife in her 40s were found dead in their bedroom with gunshot wounds yesterday morning.

Hakemal said a shotgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.

The remains of the couple have been sent to the Miri Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Police began their investigations after a report was lodged by the brother of the deceased man.

Kg Beraya is a coastal village located in Bekenu about 40km from Miri. – The Vibes, September 23, 2021
