KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 801 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 29,441.

About 799 infections were locally transmitted while two were imported, according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at today's Health Ministry press conference.

There are now 10,123 active cases, of which 94 are in the intensive care unit and 25 require breathing assistance.

Eight more fatalities were reported today, raising the death toll to 246.

On a positive note, there were also 573 recovered cases, leading the total number of recoveries to rise to 19,072.

546 of the new cases were from Sabah, while states in the Klang Valley recorded 103 cases, with 89 in Selangor and 14 in Kuala Lumpur. 

The other cases were recorded in Negeri Sembilan (24 cases), Labuan (29), Sarawak (27), Penang (19), Perak (six), Johor (eight), Kedah (28) and Terengganu (11). – The Vibes, October 28, 2020
