KOTA KINABALU – All 73 Sabah assemblymen, including those in the opposition, will get a one-off RM100,000 allocation for their constituencies.

In announcing the total RM7.3 million allocation, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor called the move part of the state government’s “caring touch” policy, made in the spirit of the “Malaysian Family” concept promulgated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“I hope this allocation will assist all assemblymen and local leaders to help their people in need,” he said.

“This is in addition to the numerous existing aid and those being channelled by the state and federal governments.

“It is our hope that this troubling situation we are presently facing will end swiftly so that we can rebuild our lives.

“I am certain we can set aside our differences towards the same goals to develop and make our state prosperous,” he said in his winding-up speech at the Sabah Legislative Assembly yesterday.

This is not the first time Hajiji has announced cash aid to opposition reps in Sabah. In February, Hajiji had also arranged RM100,000 for 31 opposition reps in the state. – The Vibes, September 24, 2021
