MIRI – Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Masing tested positive for Covid-19 and is now in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching as a precaution.

The state Public Communication Unit posted a message on its website quoting Masing as saying he has been infected.

“Yes, I tested positive for Covid-19 and am being placed in the ICU in Sarawak General Hospital as a precaution. I am okay.”

Meanwhile, the state Disaster Management Committee secretariat said Sarawak recorded another 16 deaths and 2,358 Covid-19 infections today.

This brings the death toll in the state to 794.

Out of the 2,358 new cases, Kuching has 657, followed by Sibu (255), Bintulu (183), Miri (181) and other districts (fewer than 100 infections each). – The Vibes, September 28, 2021
