PETALING JAYA - Malaysia recorded 649 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 30,090. 

About 642 infections were locally transmitted while seven were imported, according to the Ministry of Health. 

Currently, there are 10,087 active cases with 106 of them seeking intensive care and 23 on ventilator support. 

No fatalities were reported today keeping the death toll at 246.

The seven imported cases involved two Malaysians and five foreigners returning from Indonesia, India and the Philippines.

For locally transmitted cases, Sabah recorded the highest (352), followed by Selangor (132), Penang (13), Negri Sembilan (43),  Kuala Lumpur (21), Labuan (17), Perak (5), Johor (10), Terengganu (1), Sarawak (8), Kedah (37), Melaka (1), Pahang (1), and Putrajaya (1).

Five new clusters were also identified today, namely the Sakti Cluster, Tuguson Cluster, Bah Medan Cluster, Taman Laut Cluster and Taman Bunga Cluster. – The Vibes, October 29, 2020
