KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday evening is currently undergoing several tests which will be completed over the next few days.
The former prime minister will remain in IJN until then.
Due to the current standard operating procedures, no one is allowed to visit Dr Mahathir.
Yesterday, Dr Mahathir arrived at IJN at 7pm to undergo a full medical check-up and further observation.
The two-time prime minister suffered his first heart attack in 1989 and had two more in 2006. A year later, he underwent a quadruple bypass surgery.
The last time he was hospitalised was in February 2018 at IJN.
It is understood that he had all his heart treatments at the hospital. – The Vibes, December 17, 2021
