Perak MB’s office closed for 14 days after infection detected

IPOH – The Perak menteri besar’s office here was ordered closed for 14 days from today after an employee tested positive for Covid-19 in a screening yesterday.

In a statement, it said as a safety measure, disinfection was carried out in the office located in the Perak Darul Ridzuan building, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.

“Other sections in the building are operational after the disinfection was completed at 2pm today.

“Following that, officers and staff of the MB’s office were instructed to undergo self-quarantine at home and to monitor their health until further instructions from the state Health Department, while the screening of close contacts of the infected staffer is carried out.”

It said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is not in his office in this period, as he is attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting in Kuala Lumpur.

As a precaution, he underwent testing yesterday, and his result returned negative. – Bernama, November 5, 2020
