SG PETANI – Wanted detainee Long Tiger was finally nabbed by the police, today, two weeks after running away from the lock-up at the Tangkak Magistrates’ Court, in Johor.

Sources told The Vibes, Long Tiger, real name Abdul Hamim Ab Hamid, 32, was arrested at about 3.15pm at a house in Kuala Ketil, here.

The source said Long Tiger was arrested along with a 46-year-old individual in a special operation led by policemen from the D9 team in Bukit Aman.

Meanwhile, Johor police chief, Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, when contacted by The Vibes, refused to confirm the arrest.

“Wait for my press conference tomorrow. I just want to warn all parties not to viralise police operations,” he said.

Ayob said the operation is not over and he is worried that the photo of Long Tiger’s arrest would disrupt the operation to detain the Rohingya friends.

“We won’t be hesitant to take action against those who viralise the photo. Do not disrupt police investigations.”

Earlier in the afternoon, a picture of Long Tiger wearing only shorts in handcuffs, went viral on social media.

On December 15, Long Tiger reportedly escaped from the Tangkak Magistrates’ Court look-up through the main gate of the court at 11.55am, before his trial was scheduled to begin. – The Vibes, December 28, 2021
