Johor MB seeks assembly dissolution, snap polls likely soon

JOHOR BARU – Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad has confirmed the likelihood of snap polls for the state being held soon, and that he is having an audience with Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at 5pm today.

Bernama reported him as saying that he is seeking the sultan’s consent to dissolve the state assembly.

“I have obtained the agreement of (Umno) division chiefs on (the holding of) the Johor election,” he was reported as saying.

“I’m going to hold the state exco meeting at Kota Iskandar in a while before the audience with Tuanku (the sultan).”

Bernama reported that Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the Istana Bukit Serene at 4.14pm.
