KUALA LUMPUR – Muda has apologised for an anti-corruption graphic alleging opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its component party PKR are working behind the scenes with rivals Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional.

In a statement today, Muda information chief Luqman Long said the controversial post was shared without approval and done in bad faith.

“I take full responsibility for the mistake last night. The post does not reflect Muda’s principles and affected the relationship with our friends in the opposition.

“I leave it to the Muda leadership to decide to take any disciplinary action.”

He added that the chapter’s information chief has been suspended from all party duties.

After the graphic was shared on Kedah Muda’s social media platforms, it garnered backlash with PH and PKR supporters hitting out at the youth-led party.

This comes amid brouhaha over seat allocations in the coming Johor polls, where PH parties are making way for Muda to contest for nine seats.

Last night, Muda’s politburo said that PKR has yet to finalise the offer to make way for it to contest in another three Johor state seats, despite the state party chief’s announcement earlier.

In a statement, Muda’s politburo said the three seats involved were not won or contested by PKR in the 2018 election.

“Muda proposes that all details of the negotiations be kept confidential before they are announced to the media in the spirit of mutual transparency.”

In a statement earlier, Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said the party offered three state seats to Muda ahead of the March polls, following the cemented offers made by PH component parties DAP and Amanah.

Yesterday, in a joint statement by DAP, Amanah and Muda said the young party would run for six seats.

The seats allocated for Muda are Tenang, Bukit Kepong, Parit Raja, Machap, Puteri Wangsa and Bukit Permai. – The Vibes, February 10, 2022
