Storm damages 56 homes in Negri Sembilan

SEREMBAN – Fifty-six houses were damaged when a storm hit three villages and a housing estate in Mambau, near here, yesterday.

Negri Sembilan Civil Defence Force’s Fazlisyah Muslim told Bernama that the incident occurred about 4.30pm.

Most of the houses in Kg Batu 3, Kg Anak Air Garam, Kg Kayu Ara and Taman Bukit Belida had their roofs damaged.

“There were no casualties reported. The Civil Defence Force helped remove several fallen trees in the area,” said Fazlisyah.

“We are helping to assess the damage, while the Seremban Disaster Management Committee, together with residents’ representatives, will conduct remedial work after identifying the affected houses.”

No evacuation centres are opened currently, with residents whose houses are damaged opting to stay in their own homes. – Bernama, November 16, 2020
