300 Motac staff walk 10,000 steps in display of patriotism spirit

PUTRAJAYA – The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) today held the Program 10,000 Langkah Semangat Merdeka (10,000 Steps of Independence Spirit) to fuel the spirit of patriotism among those in the ministry in conjunction with the National Month 2022 celebration.

The event which began at 9.30am saw the participation of over 300 Motac staff members who held the Jalur Gemilang as they walked for nearly six kilometres around Putrajaya.

Its minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, who flagged off the event, said Motac had planned various activities in conjunction with the National Month including an independence exhibition to show the spirit of love for the country among the ministry’s employees.

“Understanding and appreciating the history of the nation’s civilisation will further strengthen the position and tolerance of the people in this country.

“As a country comprising various races, we need to focus on practising pure values ​​so that the peace, sovereignty and prosperity of the country be preserved,” she said when met by reporters after the flag-off.

Nancy said the programme also aimed to stimulate sportsmanship in addition to supporting the government’s Malaysian National Health Agenda. – Bernama, August 16, 2022
