KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) expects to complete its negotiations on parliamentary and state assembly seat allocations for the upcoming general elections by October this year, the coalition’s communications director Fahmi Fadzil said.

The ongoing talks are discussing the seats previously won by former PH component Bersatu in the last general election before it quit the coalition in 2020.

Fahmi said these seats are up for negotiation between PH parties, while the seats currently held by the coalition will maintain the status quo.

“The seats contested by Bersatu will be negotiated. The entry of any (political) party has also not been discussed.

“The PH presidential council will meet more frequently, and I believe that these negotiations will be completed in one or two months. Then it will be up to the respective parties to name the candidates,” the Lembah Pantai MPi told a press conference today.

He also commented on Muda’s plans to join PH, saying the coalition had not discussed the matter.

“I only knew of their intention to work with PH through the media. So far there has been no black and white on this.

“Maybe the PH chief secretary can explain this, but it all depends on the PH presidential council’s statement.”

Yesterday, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman announced his party’s intention to  join PH in facing GE15.

Fahmi’s press conference today was about the Rapat Mega PKR gathering to be held on Sunday in Taman Melawati in Gombak.

“This programme not only focuses on giving talks, but also offers community activities in the area.”

Among those scheduled to attend are PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. – The Vibes, September 7, 2022
