KUALA LUMPUR – Incumbent Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman chimed in on the announcement made by the prime minister today, saying that he is dejected about the 14th government’s dissolution.

“I am disappointed, upset, angry with the dissolution by (Datuk Seri) Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier today,” he said in a Facebook post.

“Even though the people have already condemned Umno multiple times, the party still wants to carry on with the general election despite there already being floods.

“It is clear that the decision to dissolve Parliament is not for the people, but for themselves, their pockets, and their power,” he added.

The Muda president also questioned the motive of Budget 2023, Malaysia’s biggest budget in history, considering the dissolution.

“The biggest budget in the nation’s history that was just presented totals to RM372.2 billion, which took many months to prepare.

“What is the motive behind this presentation? Is all the effort behind this budget in vain and only to inconvenience the people?”

Syed Saddiq further questioned Umno’s proposition of carrying out its campaign during the floods.

“What are Umno's plans to carry out the campaign during this flood season? Thousands of Malaysians are affected by the non-stop flooding.

“In the last 10 days, there have already been numerous areas hit by the floods,” he added.

The areas he said that have been affected by the flood include Durin Bazaar, Sibu; Sg Salim B, Sibu; Sg Similajau, Bintulu; Sg Melaka in Batu Hampar, Melaka Tengah; P/A Pekan Tg. Karang; Miri, Sarawak; Kapit, Sarawak; Tebobon, Kota Kinabalu; Telipok, Kota Kinabalu; Indah Permai, Kota Kinabalu; Manggatal, Kota Kinabalu; Likas, Kota Kinabalu; Rugading, Kota Kinabalu; Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park; Rampayan, Kota Kinabalu; Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu; Sigah; Kg Kibabaig; Kg Kolopis; Kinarut; Pavillion; Tuaran, Sabah (Telipok, Rugading, Gayang); Penampang (Donggongon, Bundusan, Sugud); SK Kangka Tebrau, Johor; Kg Parit Haji Mohamad Sanglang, Johor; Kg Sg Linau, Johor; Kg Paya Kenangan, Tebrau, Johor; Kg Tengah Renggam, Johor; Kg Carok Sikin, Baling, Kedah; Paya, Baling, Kedah; Tg Merbau, Baling, Kedah; Mukim Baling, Kedah; Pulai, Kedah; Siong, Kedah; Kupang, Kedah; Kg Bendang Sera, Kedah; Sg Batu, Kedah; Seberang Pekan, Kedah; Lubuk Pedati, Kedah; Taman Berlian, Kedah; Kg Padang Empang, Kedah; Dusun, Kedah; and Iboi, Mukim Kupang, Kedah. – The Vibes, October 10, 2022
