KOTA KINABALU – Barisan Nasional (BN) component Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) has stated its disagreement on the cooperation between BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) parties in the coming 15th general election(GE15).
PBRS president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said the party believes BN should face GE15 in Sabah solo because working with GRS will only benefit Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Sabah.
“PBRS fully supports BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s statement that BN should face GE15 solo, and PBRS recommends that this should also include Sabah seats, in line with PBRS’s memorandum to PN earlier,” he said in a statement today.
“This is also taking into account feedback from PBRS divisional leaders and grassroots supporters who disagree with this (BN-GRS) collaboration,” he added.
Earlier today, Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin confirmed that BN and GRS will be dividing Parliament seats in Sabah 50-50, and there will not be any clashes in seats.
GRS consists of Sabah Bersatu, Sabah Star, Sabah Progressive Party, Parti Bersatu Sabah and United Sabah National Organisation.
Other than PBRS, BN’s member parties include Umno, MCA and MIC. – The Vibes, October 15, 2022
