Calling DAP communists? Desperate Hadi back to talking rubbish: P. Ramasamy

KUALA LUMPUR – PAS president Tan Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is back to talking “rubbish” with the party's #TolakDAP campaign labelling the Pakatan Harapan (PH) party as communists, said Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy.

“Out of political desperation, Hadi is trying to label DAP members as communists. 

“If he has evidence that DAP is a communist party, then such evidence should be presented to the authorities concerned. 

“Why wait and constantly talk rubbish?” Ramasamy said today in response to a series of anti-DAP posters on Hadi’s and PAS’ social media platforms.

Yesterday, Hadi posted on his Facebook and Twitter that DAP is involved in pushing communist ideology in Malaysia.

The Marang MP defined communism as a secular concept that rejects belief in God, and said communists were worse than colonisers, Christians, and Jews.

A series of posters also listed allegedly communist activities in Malaysia, including the return of exiled Communist Party of Malaysia leader Chin Peng’s ashes.

“Thus, any attempt to uplift or reproduce the communist ideology in our homeland as carried out by DAP should be prevented and opposed,” Hadi said.

In response, Ramasamy said that Hadi often used rhetorical attacks to suit PAS’ political circumstances.

“Once, PAS collaborated with DAP in Pakatan Rakyat, before both parted ways.

“Once, Umno was PAS’ sworn enemy, but political circumstances allowed them to cooperate, connive, and undermine the legitimate government of PH.”

Ramasamy, who is from DAP, said PAS was merely resorting to these old tactics because it feared losing in the coming 15th general election.

“Its support base is gradually dwindling among educated Malays who are aware of the hypocrisy of the party and leaders like Hadi. 

“Only the conservative Malays will continue to support PAS. Even for this, their days are numbered."

In recent months, Hadi has drawn flak for remarks against non-Malays and non-Muslims, accusing them of being the “roots of corruption”.

Police began investigating him under the Penal Code for statements inciting to the community, and the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities, but the case has seen no outcome to date. – The Vibes, October 20, 2022
