KUALA LUMPUR – Muafakat Nasional (MN), the seemingly loose coalition between Umno and PAS is apparently a registered society helmed by none other than Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

In a Facebook post today, the incumbent Ketereh MP confirmed that the name had been registered under the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on September 19, 2019.

Additionally, he also uploaded a screenshot of its membership which included himself as president, and several of his key allies in the outfit – namely his officer and suspended Umno member Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, as well as former Sg Besar MP Datuk Budiman Mohd Zohdi, both in their capacities as committee members.

He also included the society’s registration certificate of which the address is listed as located in Taman Klang Sentral, in Klang, Selangor.

In his posting, Annuar said that the registered society would allow him to continue his work under a different platform involving charity and welfare which would lead to the unity of the ummah.

“Islam and the Malays must continue to stay strong and in power. We are strong if we are united by standing under the leadership with clear direction and quality leadership.

“Despite being discarded, one must remain as a distinguished fighter,” he added.

Following the post, speculation has grown on the fate of Muafakat Nasional, of which Annuar remained an ardent supporter causing frictional ties with Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He was subsequently dropped from the candidate lineup in favour of Kelantan Puteri Umno head Marzuani Ardila Ariffin who is also a member of the Ketereh Umno division. – The Vibes, November 2, 2022
