KOTA KINABALU – Pitas and Kalabakan have been declared red zones after both areas recorded more than 40 active Covid-19 cases.

This brings the number of red zones in Sabah to 15.

State Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, in a statement, said Pitas today added four cases to the 40 recorded yesterday.

Kalabakan also recorded another four infections, making for 43 cases in 14 days.

“Sabah recorded 441 new Covid-19 cases today, taking the state’s tally to 27,679.

“A total of 192 cases, or 43.54% of the new cases, were detected in close-contact screening in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Sandakan,” he said, adding that another 738 patients have been discharged, taking the state’s overall recoveries to 24,519.

A total of 2,027 patients are still receiving treatment, with 74 in intensive care, of whom 21 are on ventilators. – Bernama, November 27, 2020
