TANGKAK – Barisan Nasional (BN) treasurer-general Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said Umno’s stance on keeping Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as BN’s poster boy in the 15th general election (GE15) was determined in advance by the party.

Hishammuddin, who is also Sembrong Umno division chief, said that to realise BN’s wishes, the party needs to win GE15.

“From earlier, the party had decided and made a stand that he (Ismail Sabri) will be our poster boy. To become prime minister, the important thing is that the party must first win,” he told reporters after the “Jelajah Undi BN Johor” programme at the Pagoh parliamentary constituency in Kg Baru Grisek here today.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today reiterated the stance that Ismail Sabri will be prime minister if the coalition wins GE15.

Zahid said the issue of Ismail Sabri not holding the highest position in the party should not be magnified.
