KUALA LUMPUR – Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said it was his priority to work in building a nation that is truly just, equitable, multiracial, and multi-religious.

In a video posted on Facebook, the Muar MP said it did not bother him that Muda was not included in the new cabinet line-up and, in fact, it gave the party more room to raise the voice of the people inside and outside Parliament.

“I can also focus more on the people in Muar and work to develop my constituency,” he said, adding that Muda’s omission from the cabinet did not distance the party from the people.

The former youth and sports minister also said he respected all the appointments and congratulated the new ministers and deputies.

“Cabinet appointments are the prerogative of the prime minister and we, together, must work to continue developing our country.

“During a recent meeting with the prime minister, I also stressed that I wanted to focus on my ongoing court case and ensure that justice is upheld.

“I am confident the truth will prevail. It is not time for all politicking to end and for us to focus on serving the people,” he added. – The Vibes, December 10, 2022
