IPOH – Perak’s political party leaders have not submitted any candidates for the menteri besar position to Sultan Nazrin Shah.

Dewan Negara Perak member Datuk Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini told a press conference outside Istana Kinta that Pakatan Harapan state leaders and Umno state liaison chief Datuk Saarani Mohamad have briefed the ruler on their respective party positions.

“We were made to understand that they are still discussing matters. Umno said it will hold a special state party meeting tonight. You must ask Umno leaders because this does not involve the palace,” said Annuar.

“I am only saying what happened this morning.”

He added that the sultan has requested that the parties find the best formula to form a new government and leadership for the state.

This morning, DAP state chief Nga Kor Ming, PKR state chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak and Amanah state chief Asmuni Awi had an audience with Sultan Nazrin under the PH banner.

They were followed by Kota Tampan assemblyman Saarani.
