KUALA LUMPUR – Police have detained six food delivery riders for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at a hotel in Petaling Jaya, Harian Metro reported today.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the victim’s sister was informed about the incident at noon on Wednesday after a complaint from the victim.

After receiving a report, a team of officers from the Petaling Jaya police headquarters apprehended a suspect in Kg Sg Kayu Ara.

“Initial investigations found that all suspects confessed involvement in the rape. Four of the suspects detained were aged between 20 and 22, while the other two were 16 and 17.

“However, the two teenage suspects are no longer schooling and work as food delivery riders,” Ezanee said in a statement.

He added that the two suspects had two previous criminal records involving drugs.

“The victim is experiencing emotional stress and is undergoing treatment in Universiti Malaya Hospital.

“All suspects have been remanded for seven days and will be investigated under Section 375(b) of the Penal Code.” – The Vibes, December 5, 2020
