KUALA LUMPUR – Jentayu Sustainables Bhd announced that Ohana Specialist Hospital has been temporarily closed as its licence was revoked due to non-compliance with mandated operating procedures.
The hospital was served the notice on April 5, with all patients safely transferred to other medical facilities prior to its closure.
Jentayu acquired Ohana Specialist Hospital in February 2022 and is currently managed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ultimate Forte Sdn Bhd.
“Ohana Specialist Hospital has engaged the necessary advisers including legal counsel to facilitate an appeal within the prescribed period of 30 days to overturn the decision via a direct appeal to the Health Minister.
“The hospital will take advantage of this closure period to introduce greater rigour and stringency in its compliance assessments to improve the operating procedures to comply with the government standards and ensure a safe environment for patients,” it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
Ohana Specialist Hospital represents 7.66% of the total assets as of December 31, 2022, Jentayu said.
The hospital is expected to be a minor contributor to the group’s future income with the bulk of its income expected to be derived from its renewable energy (RE) assets.
Jentayu said the group is undergoing a transitional year as the injection of the proposed RE assets are only expected to be completed in the second half of financial year 2024. – Bernama, April 6, 2023
