KUALA LUMPUR – Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is in town alongside new Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 teammate George Russell.

Sources within the fraternity said Lewis and George came to KL for the Petronas Welcome Home Programme and will be departing tonight and tomorrow respectively.

Lewis had posted a video of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers earlier today and tagged the oil and gas company along with a geotag of KL.

They were also spotted at a Petronas station in Ampang, according to the Instagram account Careta.my.

The drivers just finished the Australian Grand Prix that took place over the weekend at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in Melbourne.

George claimed his first podium finish for Mercedes while Lewis came in fourth place, three seconds behind his teammate.

After struggling with porpoising – or bouncing at high speed – during testing and the first two rounds of the season, the team is delighted with the improvements made during the third race at Melbourne.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc gave the team its first grand slam since 2010 by finishing first, led every race lap, and claimed an extra point for the fastest lap.

Last year’s champion Max Verstappen suffered his second DNF after being forced to retire due to reliability issues.

The F1 teams will be heading to Italy next for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari on April 24. – The Vibes, April 11, 2022.
