KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continue their winning ways, trouncing Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC 6-0 in their Super League match at Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar Puteri Stadium last night.

The club showed its depth in talent, with six different players finding the net last night and KDA FC unable to reply.

Argentinian striker Fernando Martin Forestieri opened accounts in the 23rd minute, while defender Muhamad Feroz Baharudin made it 2-0 in the 48th minute. Oscar Pasero Arribas then scored two minutes later, putting victory virtually beyond the visiting team.

The Canaries then suffered the ignobility of conceding a penalty after defender Mohd Akmal Md Zahir brought down Bergson Gustavo Silveira Da Silva, who had no problem finding the back of the net in the 52nd minute.

JDT’s fifth goal came from Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi in the 76th, and finally, Leandro Sebastian Velazquez ended the match with the sixth goal in the 86th minute.

The match at Petaling Jaya City Stadium between Selangor and Kelantan was yet another big victory for the home team, as they came away with a 3-0 win.

Selangor dominated the match, resulting in the first goal in the 28th minute by striker Ayron Del Valle, and a brace from Rauf Salifu, who came on as a substitute for Aryon. His first goal was a calm calculated shot in the 80th minute, and his second came just before the final whistle nine minutes later.

Meanwhile, Terengganu FC beat Kuching City FC 2-0 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium last night, with Jordan Mintah being the team’s hero after scoring one goal each in the first (22nd minute) and second half (52nd minute).

In the last match of the night, home team Penang FC also beat visiting PDRM FC, with a scoreline of 4-2. The visitors managed to get an early start by scoring in the third minute, courtesy of Marcus Macauley, but Penang was undeterred, equalising in the 11th minute through James Okwusa, then taking the lead through Soony Saad in the 17th minute.

PDRM did not take things lying down, however, and bounced back to equalise through Azmi Muslim in the 28th minute.

Things then went downhill for the visiting team in the second half, as Penang’s Soony scored his second goal in the 53rd minute before Rahmat Makasuf settled the match with a 69th-minute goal to end things at 4-2. – Bernama, April 10, 2023
