THE body of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was recovered from the rubble following an IAF strike in the Dahiya neighbourhood in Beirut, said reports quoting medical and security sources.
"His body was recovered on Saturday and was placed in a shroud on Sunday after being washed. The funeral ceremony and his burial have not yet been arranged," said reports.
There were no signs of injuries on his body, indicating that the blunt force of the explosion had killed him.
Before his death on Friday when Israeli jets attacked Hizbollah's heartland in the south of the Lebanese capital, Nasrallah was considered the most powerful man in the country.
Nasrallah’s death was announced by the terror organisation on Saturday afternoon.
Friday's air strike also killed Ali Karake, the group's top commander in southern Lebanon, Hizbollah said on Sunday. - September 30, 2024
