SINGAPORE – Singapore yesterday logged more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases for the second day running, as well as eight fatalities.
Of the 2,268 fresh cases, said the Health Ministry, 1,810 are in the community, migrant workers’ dormitories (448) and imported (10).
In its update last night, the ministry said 1,335 coronavirus patients are in hospital, of whom 197 require oxygen supplementation and 34 are in intensive care.
The eight deaths comprised elderly Singaporeans, six of whom were not vaccinated against the virus.
In total, the republic has lost 93 lives to Covid-19.
As of Tuesday, 82% of the population had completed their vaccination regimen, while 85% had received at least one dose.
Singapore’s total caseload currently stands at 94,043, with 16,643 still active. – Bernama, September 30, 2021
