TAKING to social media, a nasi kandar restaurant in George Town shared the creation of a new record.

According to a post by Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, a customer spent RM69 on a single plate of their nasi kandar – setting a new record in the restaurant’s history.

In its Facebook post, the restaurant said the customer was from Johor.

“RM69 ... breaks all records. This is the highest. Did not expect anyone to set a last-minute record before the end of the year. All-time biggest record,” read a caption accompanying the picture.

The restaurant also shared a breakdown of the receipt:

Big Squid – RM8

Squid – RM7.50 x 3

Prawn – RM7.50 x 4

Mutton – RM7.00

Rice – RM1.50

Some netizens said the price was okay considering he had taken squid and prawns.

Some said for the quantity, the price was reasonable, as some restaurants charged up to RM50 for a large squid. – The Vibes, January 2, 2024
