A VIDEO clip of an Indian woman feeding a Malay youth at Hospital Sultanah Aminah has won the hearts of Malaysians from all walks of life.

The clip, which has since gone viral on social media, shows C. Anjala Devi, 63, feeding the young man, who is warded at the hospital.

According to Harian Metro, she had gone to the hospital to visit her nephew K. Jaya Shankar, who was warded after suffering a heart attack.

“At the ward, I noticed the youth on the bed, alone and without any visitors.

“I could not just let him lie on the bed alone, so I approached him and helped him to eat,” she said.

Anjala, from Larkin, said the young man suffered a stroke and was unable to feed himself.

“He began to cry as I fed him and I told him not to cry and finish his meal so he would not go hungry,” she said.

Anjala said she only did what she could to help ease his burden.

“I was happy to help him, we are one Malaysia.

“How can I just sit idly by when someone else is struggling? I hope he recovers soon.”

The next day, Anjala prepared vegetable soup for the man.

Meanwhile, her nephew K Jamunahwathy, who recorded the video, said he did so as he was touched by his aunt’s compassion. – June 8, 2024
