FUZIAH Salleh has replaced Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as the PKR secretary-general, effective immediately.

Fuziah, who is the deputy minister of domestic trade and consumer affairs, is the first woman to hold the party position.

The party central leadership committee made this decision yesterday, PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said.

Saifuddin, who is the home minister, will remain the Pakatan Harapan secretary-general. He will also serve as adviser to the party’s newly formed management committee, which is made up of vice-president Fuziah, Nurul Izzah Anwar, treasurer-general William Leong, youth deputy chief Muhammad Kamil Munim, and women deputy chief Juwairiya Zulkifli.

The purpose of the new committee is unclear. – September 16, 2024.
