THE Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council has not formally discussed any collaboration with other parties, said Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick.
He was responding to earlier reports that cooperation talks between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) had been finalised.
Benedick stressed that Sabah PH should have political autonomy to choose its partners.
"There has been no final decision regarding PH's collaboration with any party at this point to face the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN).
"PH Sabah must select partners who share similar principles, such as advocating for the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), the demand for one-third representation in the Dewan Rakyat, and the 40% revenue entitlement," Benedick said in a media statement after chairing Upko’s Supreme Council meeting.
BN chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was earlier reported saying that BN and PH had finalised their cooperation for the state election, expected to take place next year.
The deputy prime minister also said the agreement between BN and PH would form the basis for their cooperation in the Sabah election. - October 29, 2024
