THERE will not be any compromise with anyone involved in the case where a cadet officer at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), Sungai Besi, was allegedly bullied and abused by a senior student, reported the New Straits Times.

Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman said it is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

When contacted yesterday by NST, he briefly said, "The armed forces take such issues seriously and will not protect anyone involved in this case. "

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki warned bullies that they would be shown the door following the bullying incident.

“There were no lessons learned from past cases that ended in tragedy and there will be zero tolerance if this happens at any Mara institution.

“My principle is clear - ‘You touch, you go! If you bully, you’re out!”,” said Asyraf in a Facebook post.

In 2017, the country was shaken by the tragic death of UPNM cadet officer Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, who was severely burned repeatedly with a steam iron.

As a result, six former UPNM students were sentenced to death by hanging by the Court of Appeal on July 23 after being found guilty of the crime. - November 1, 2024
