IN the true spirit of multiculturalism and Christmas, a doctor with the Miri Hospital ICU has been forking out his money to purchase ornaments to put up a Christmas tree.
He has been doing this for years though he does not celebrate Christmas merely to spread the feeling of joy and festivity.
Born to a Malay father and a Chinese mother, Dr Mohamad Thasli told Sin Chew Daily that though he does not celebrate Christmas, he has been decorating the tree every year.
This year, another doctor sponsored the tree for about RM500, while Dr Mohamad spent another RM400 on the lights and ornaments.
"I find it fulfilling to decorate the tree and it takes me about 90 minutes to complete.
"I feel happy and proud whenever I see my colleagues and patients admiring the Christmas tree," he said. - November 22, 2024
