PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow confirmed he will contest in the upcoming DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) election on March 16.

“I can confirm that I will be contesting in the election on March 16,” he told reporters today after officiating the presentation of a firefighting vehicle to the Kuala Juru Volunteer Fire and Rescue Team.

The second term CM did not take part in the Penang state DAP elections last September.

However, the DAP vice-chairam did not state if he was vying for the position of national chairman which is currently held by Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng.

“The answer will be known on March 16. It is still too early to say anything," he said. - February 23, 2025
