WHILE a crocodile was earlier said to be spotted at Pantai Cermin in Port Dickson, more sightings have been reported in other locations in the district.

Based on viral TikTok videos, crocodiles were also spotted at Pantai Purnama and Pantai Teluk Kemang, which are the most popular beach locations in the district, reported Berita Harian.

Negri Sembilan Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) director, Faizal Izham Pikri, said his team would identify the exact location of the crocodile sightings as it seems to be constantly changing.

"What is worrying is that the crocodile surfaced while people were swimming, and this situation has caused great concern.

"While some believe that the presence of a crocodile Port Dickson waters is not unusual, we will take the relevant action. We have already set traps in Pantai Cermin two weeks ago," he said.

He said that his team has not yet been able to confirm whether the reptile is the same crocodile that was previously spotted in Pantai Cermin.

"So far, we have only received complaints about the reptile being spotted at the beach near Hotel Thistle.

"However, based on the viral video, we will identify its location first before any further action is taken," he added. - February 27, 2025
