A MALAYSIAN woman fainted and lost consciousness while on an AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chengdu yesterday.

According to reports, the plane made an emergency landing at the Kunming Changshui International Airport in Yunnan province where the 60-year-old woman was rushed for medical treatment.

The incident was shared in a post on Xiaohongshu.

The aircraft had left the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9:19 am (Malaysian time) and was to arrive at Chengdu’s Tianfu International Airport at 2:55 pm (Chinese time).

According to the post by KK, the aircraft diverted to Kunming Changshui International Airport and landed at 1:00 pm (Malaysian time).

Emergency teams were on standby and the unconscious passenger was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

KK also said that the airline made an emergency broadcast for a doctor when crew members noticed the woman had fainted.

He said a flight attendant was also seen performing CPR on the woman.

The flight resumed at 4pm and reached Chengdu about 6pm. – March 17, 2025
