A TOTAL 108 police reports have been lodged by victims of the Putra Heights gas blast on Tuesday, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
None of the reports were related to property theft after residents were evacuated from the area, but mostly on damage caused by the incident.
"There are no theft cases so far. The police and the ministry are highly committed to provide safety and security, especially in the homes, and to assist the victims," he said after visiting several victims today.
He said the police reports were mostly made for insurance compensation and more are expected.
"We have recalled police officers on Aidilfitri leave to serve the people. So far, 116 police personnel are on duty," he said.
He also said that the National Registration Department's (NRD) mobile counter at the centre had reissued 19 MyKads and 43 birth certificates.
"The NRD is also providing the services of Bus Mekar and mobile vans to ferry victims here without having to go to the NRD offices to get their necessary documents.
"The operations began today with 30 personnel," he said.

On another note, Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said the police, in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), are closely monitoring such content to avoid confusion among the public.
"For verified information, the public can look at the website or follow the official media statements made by the authorities.
“This is to avoid confusion and a bad atmosphere...any party who takes advantage and does something bad will face legal action," he said when met after visiting the relief centre for victims of the gas pipeline fire at the Putra Heights Mosque new Kuala Lumpur, today.- April 3, 2025
