MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan is confident Barisan Nasional will enjoy a landslide victory in the Ayer Kuning by-election, citing strong support from the Indian community as a critical factor.
Saravanan who is also the Member of Parliament for Tapah said with more than 2,600 Indian voters categorised as white voters (undi putih) the community's support for BN remains steadfast ahead of the by-election.
Saravanan revealed that currently about 2,600 votes from the Indian community have been identified as loyal BN voters.
“MIC is focusing its efforts on consolidating these votes and reaching out to fence-sitters.
"About 300 votes remain in the grey or undecided category, while about 700 voters have yet to indicate their preference,” he said.
He said this after meeting the Indian community in Kampung Ayer Kuning, recently.
There are a total of 4,603 Indian votes in the Ayer Kuning state constituency.
"For now, we consider the 2,600 loyal votes in hand and are working on bringing in outstation voters back on polling day" he added. – April 25, 2025
