A FATHER refused to pay the RM1,500 bail imposed by the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court today against his son who pleaded guilty to raping a female acquaintance earlier this month.
The 40-year-old man's action was to teach his 16-year-old son a lesson.
The teenager earlier confessed to the offence before Magistrate Arun Noval Dass.
The man earlier accompanied his eldest son for the proceeding under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code and was seen leaving his son without paying bail.
According to the charge, the boy is accused of raping his 15-year-old acquaintance at a house in the district between 4 and 5.30 pm on June 2.
The section provides for a prison sentence of up to 20 years and whipping if convicted.
Based on a police report filed by the accused's father, the teenager who worked at a restaurant was charged with committing the act against his acquaintance while his mother was out at work.
However, on the day of the incident, his 41-year-old mother returned home earlier than expected before seeing the woman's slippers outside her house.
The woman then knocked on the door several times before the teenager opened the door.
A search of her bedroom found that there was a woman inside.
Initial police investigations found that both the accused and the victim admitted that they had been having sex for a long time, up to 16 to 18 times.
Prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Firdaus Ruslan while the accused was represented by lawyer Tan Song Yang from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).
The court set July 16 for mention as well as the Department of Social Welfare's (JKM) moral report on the accused. – June 9, 2025
