POLICE confirmed that the foreign woman who was arrested after a rampage that injured six individuals in Kajang yesterday was a student at a public university in the country.

Kajang District Police Chief Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the 24-year-old suspect was remanded for seven days until August 20 for further investigations

“Initial investigations found that the suspect is believed to have acted in this way because she was disappointed with the treatment she received while studying and her life, which caused her stress.

"However, the suspect did not specify in detail the form of treatment she endured. There is no record showing that she was taking any medication or was in a state of depression," he said in a statement today.

According to him, so far a total of 11 witnesses including the victim have had statements taken to assist in the ongoing investigation to identify the true cause of the incident.

"Two of the injured victims are currently in stable condition, but are still being treated in hospital" he said.

Yesterday, the media reported that the woman went on a rampage around Jalan Bukit, Kajang, at 11.58am by attacking members of the public using sharp objects, resulting in six victims aged 21 to 60 being injured.

Two victims were treated in hospital, while the other four received outpatient treatment. - August 14, 2025
