A PARENT of a student at the Bandar Utama school paid her respects to the schoolgirl who was fatally stabbed by placing a bouquet of flowers at the school gate.

"I needed to do this to have some closure as my child also studies here," the woman reportedly told NST.

Classes were conducted as usual while the media was not allowed into the school.

Several other bouquets were also seen at the school gates, one with the words, "May your soul rest in peace" on it.

Meanwhile, according to China Press, the victim's family will hold a five-day wake for relatives, friends, teachers and students to pay their last respects.
