THE suspects and victim in the gang rape involving teenagers in Baling were found to have been engaged in sexual activities from May to August this year, before it was exposed following the dissemination of the pornographic video last Sunday.

Baling District Acting Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Salimi Mat Ali, said a police report was made on the same day after a 53-year-old man was informed by the school's disciplinary teacher about the dissemination of a nude video of his 15-year-old daughter.

"On the same night, at about 9.30pm, three students and a former student aged between 15 and 17 were arrested to assist in the investigation. Six mobile phones were also seized," he said in a statement today.

Initial investigations found that all four suspects were in possession of and distributing the pornographic material.

Further investigation revealed that they engaged in sexual activities, including group sex, at several locations within the school compound between May and August this year.

Police have obtained a five-day remand order against the suspects to facilitate investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape and Section 8 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act for distribution of child pornography.

Police stressed that this matter is being taken seriously and advised parents and guardians to monitor the movements and activities of their children, especially teenagers.
