AFTER former Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan withdrew his appeal against his sacking from Bersatu this morning, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah also followed suit.

However, the former Bersatu Supreme Working Council member did not reveal his reasons for doing so.

"With this withdrawal, I request that the Appeal Board take note and subsequently stop all further proceedings or considerations regarding my appeal," he said in a letter addressed to the Bersatu Appeal Board Chairman today.

On January 6, the Indera Mahkota MP was reported to have confirmed receiving a letter from the Bersatu Disciplinary Board regarding his sacking following a violation of Clause 9.1.4 of the party's constitution, which did not detail the specific offence he committed.

On October 27, Saifuddin and former Perlis Menteri Besar, Mohd Shukri Ramli, were removed from their respective positions as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman for Pahang and Perlis.

The chairmanship for both states is now held by PAS Deputy President, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN Pahang), and Arau Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim (PN Perlis). - February 16, 2026
