POLICE have detained a 41-year-old man after he was found behaving erratically and obstructing traffic while naked along a road in Langkap, in Teluk Intan, Perak in an incident that later circulated widely on social media.
Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Chua Kok Lian said authorities received a report at 9.35pm regarding the individual’s indecent behaviour along Jalan Langkap–Chui Chak.
“Acting on the information, police detained the 41-year-old man, as seen in videos circulating on social media.
“The suspect was taken to Langkap police station for further action before being referred to Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment and a psychiatric evaluation,” he said in a statement.
The man has since been referred for medical assessment, with police emphasising that appropriate follow-up action will be taken based on the evaluation.
Chua also urged members of the public to refrain from sharing footage of the incident, stressing the importance of safeguarding the individual’s dignity. - April 4, 2026
