THE suspect who fled after stabbing a woman in a Mazda 3 in front of a restaurant in Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas, last night was arrested by police early this morning.
Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Syed Basri Syed Ali, confirmed the matter, and the suspect, who is also a 32-year-old man, is expected to be remanded today.
"Yes. The suspect has been successfully arrested and will be remanded today," he said.
It was earlier reported that a 35-year-old woman was stabbed in the right side of the neck by a man she knew in front of a restaurant in Jalan Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas, last night.
The suspect, who is known to the victim, is believed to have fled immediately after the incident, and police were also tracking down the weapon used in the incident.
“The motive for the incident is still under investigation, and we believe the two knew each other because they were in the same vehicle when the incident occurred.
“The victim, who works as a real estate agent, was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for treatment, and her condition is reported to be stable,” he said.
He stated that initial investigations revealed the vehicle involved belonged to the victim, and the woman was in the driver’s seat at the time of the incident. – May 18, 2026
