A TOTAL of 24 Malaysian activists aboard 13 vessels participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 humanitarian mission to Gaza were reportedly intercepted by Israeli forces late on Monday night, according to tracking information released by organisers.

The interception, reported at around 11.30pm, marked a dramatic escalation in the latest international maritime attempt to challenge restrictions surrounding Gaza and deliver humanitarian support to Palestinians amid the prolonged crisis in the enclave.

Information compiled through the Sumud Nusantara Tracker identified the Malaysian activists and the vessels on which they were travelling as part of the multinational convoy.

The vessel Cactus was carrying Mohammad Shazly Mohammad Shees and Tengku Ahmad Taufik Tengku Noor Zahari.

Patmanathan Sivasamy, Muhammad Amirul Afif Mohd Azhar and Syakirin Muhamed Senin were aboard the vessel Ferluto.

The vessel Bianca Ita was carrying Abdul Samad Selamat and Naufa Azahari.

Mohd Shamsir Mohd Isa, Hazwan Hazim Dermawan and Osman Zolkifli were aboard the vessel Themis.

Muhammad Zaid Abdul Karim and Mohammad Farizzal Rostam were listed as passengers on the vessel Gotico.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak and Eddy Noor Mad Amin were reported to be aboard the vessel Marilyn.

Earlier reports had stated that 29 Malaysians from various professional and humanitarian backgrounds had joined the flotilla mission, which was organised as part of an international solidarity campaign for Gaza.

The Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 mission was launched amid mounting international pressure over humanitarian access to Gaza, with activists seeking to highlight the worsening humanitarian conditions faced by Palestinians under the blockade. - May 19, 2026
