POLICE in Selangor have ruled out foul play in the death of a senior Criminal Investigation Department officer who died after falling from a condominium in Shah Alam, describing the incident as an accident following the completion of forensic investigations.

Selangor Police Chief Dauk Shazeli Kahar said today that investigators had found no evidence linking criminal elements to the death of Assistant Superintendent Mohd Firdaus Safuan Abdul Rasib.

“There are no criminal elements. As of now, we believe the death was accidental.

“The post mortem has been completed and the body has been safely buried at the victim’s hometown in Kuantan, Pahang.

“This is all I would say on this incident,” he told reporters during a press conference on Thursday.

The officer, attached to the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department, was reported to have died on Wednesday morning after allegedly falling from a condominium building in Seksyen 14, Shah Alam.

Authorities have not disclosed further details surrounding the circumstances leading to the incident.

Shazeli also cautioned the public against circulating unverified claims or defamatory speculation related to the case, warning that legal action could be taken against those responsible for spreading false information.

The death of the senior officer had earlier sparked widespread public attention and speculation online following reports of the incident. - May 21, 2026
